These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the CVGenius website at cvgenius.co.za (the "Website") and the CV redesign, CV building, ATS checking and related services we provide (the "Services"). By using the Website or purchasing a Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your personal information.
CVGenius is a business in the career and employment support software industry that uses artificial intelligence to extract, structure, and redesign curriculum vitae (CVs/résumés) into professionally formatted documents. Our Services include:
All Services are digital and delivered electronically. No physical goods are shipped.
Subject to availability of our systems and receipt of payment, your redesigned CV is generated and made available for download immediately upon successful payment confirmation, and in any event within 24 hours. Delivery is confirmed by way of an on-screen download link and, where applicable, a confirmation notice. No courier or postal service is used or required.
In the rare event that generation fails due to a fault on our part (for example, a server or processing error), we will either redeliver the Service at no additional charge or refund you in full, at our discretion, within 30 days.
Payment may be made via Visa, Mastercard, Instant EFT, or other payment methods supported by our payment gateway from time to time. All prices are displayed and charged in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
Current pricing for each Service is displayed on the Website at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change our prices at any time; the price applicable to your transaction is the price displayed at the time you complete payment.
Because our Services are digital products delivered instantly upon payment, the following policy applies:
To request a refund, email support@cvgenius.co.za with your order reference and a description of the issue. We aim to respond within 2 business days and resolve valid claims within 30 days.
This policy does not affect any statutory rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
The Services offered on this Website are primarily intended for clients in South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR). We do not restrict access based on location, but make no representation that the Services are appropriate or available for use outside South Africa.
Card transactions are acquired on our behalf via PayFast (Pty) Ltd, an approved payment gateway for all South African acquiring banks. PayFast uses strict encryption standards to protect cardholder data, and no card details are entered on, or stored by, the CVGenius website. Card details are entered directly on PayFast's secure payment page.
Your account and order details (such as your name, email address, and the CV content you provide) are stored separately by CVGenius from any card or payment details, which are handled exclusively by PayFast. For more information on PayFast's security practices, visit www.payfast.co.za.
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information you provide to us, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This includes the content of any CV you upload or type into our Services, which is used solely to provide the Service you requested and is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Uploaded CV files used for the free ATS check are deleted immediately after analysis and are not stored. CV data used to generate a paid redesign is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to deliver the Service and support, after which it is deleted from our active systems.

You retain all rights to the personal and professional information you submit to create your CV. By using the Services, you grant CVGenius a limited licence to process that information solely for the purpose of generating your redesigned CV, cover letter, or ATS report.
The Website, including its templates, design, software, and underlying technology, is the property of CVGenius or its licensors and may not be copied, resold, or redistributed without our prior written consent. The completed, downloaded CV document is yours to use as you see fit.
CVGenius takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction, including the provision of the Services purchased on this Website, customer service and support, dispute resolution, and delivery of the digital product.
Our Services use artificial intelligence to extract and structure information you provide. While we aim for accuracy, you are responsible for reviewing your completed CV, cover letter, or ATS report before using or submitting it, and for correcting any errors. We do not guarantee employment outcomes, interview success, or that any CV will pass a particular employer's screening process.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CVGenius's total liability to you in connection with the Services is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant Service.
This Website is governed by the laws of South Africa. CVGenius chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi (address for legal notices) for all purposes under this agreement the address set out in Section 13 below.
CVGenius may, in its sole discretion, change these Terms or any part of them at any time without prior notice. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date and will apply to all use of the Website and Services from that point forward.
